Saving for the Holidays

Sharing is caring!

Most of the world celebrates the holidays and purchase gifts for children, friends, and family. The worst part is knowing someone has been wanting a specific gift and you can’t afford to buy it. Wouldn’t it be nice to know you have the money to get the exact gift your child wants? Or maybe your significant other has been eyeing something kind of pricey and you know you can turn around and pick it up tomorrow without second guessing what you can spend last minute?

Obviously, if we could just spend as much as we wanted, we would, right? But other necessities get in our way, such as rent, bills, etc…

I’d love to help you continue to stay in the green when the Holiday season comes around instead of you scrambling at the end of the year.

Gifts

What if I Don’t Know What I’m Planning to Purchase?

2023 has just ended, so chances are we aren’t thinking about holiday gifts for 2024 yet; but if we start now, it’ll be way easier to get ahead.

Create a budget for your 2024 shopping!

Generally, people don’t save because they THINK they don’t have enough money to do so. You don’t have to save a lot of money and you don’t have to be rich to save. Start off small and in time determine the amount that works best for your lifestyle.

If you save $25 per month, that’s $300 for 12 months.

If you save $50 per month, that’s $600 for 12 months.

If you save $75 per month, that’s $900 for 12 months.

If you save $200 per month, that’s $2,400 for 12 months.

Even if you save a little bit, the money still adds up!

It’s better to save what you can, even if it doesn’t cover everything you end up spending at the end of the year.

I love saving also, especially in cash, because sometimes I almost forget the amount that I’ve saved, and it almost feels like free money later down the road.

Avoid Maxing Out

We’re saving for the holiday gifts, right? You don’t want to use every drop of your savings either, but you can if that’s what your plan was.

Decide how much you want to save, then decide how much of what you saved you want to use for spending.

I.E. We decided to save $200 per month and saved $2,400 at the end of the year. We budgeted to use $1,500 on gifts and leave $900 in the savings. That’s still a good number to add on too!

When you start the new year for 2025, and continue putting $200 per month in savings, at the end of that year, you’ll have $3,300! Overtime this money will add up.

You just have to START! I promise it is possible.
